In gerneral there are two big groups of corkscrews:

Round thread and sharp thread.

A sharp thread is formed like a screw. Unlike this a round thread is formed like a spiral and has a so called soul.

The soul is the internal space between the spirals. It has the right diameter when a match fits in it.
